Jean-Karl Vernay sure the start will be crucial
Jean-Karl Vernay took pole position by a shocking margin of half a second over WestCoast Racing’s Gianni Morbidelli, who finished the session in second. The Leopard Racing driver loves street tracks.
“I really like this track, and street circuits in general, and was really happy to set the pole,” said the Frenchman. “There were a couple of yellows at the beginning at the session, and the track was still very dirty, but then I had a perfectly clean lap and everything went well.”
Vernay looks confident ahead of today’s race, as he is comfortable with the car and, as long as he can have a good start, he has the pace to win: “The car feels simply great. For the race, I will try to have a good start and stay focused, then we’ll see what happens.”
Singapore marks the first TCR International Series pole position for the Leopard Racing driver.
