STARD release first pictures of Kia Cee’d TCR

Austrian developers STARD released on social media the first pictures of the all-new Kia Cee’d TCR. The car, which will make its debut in 2017, is shown in a camouflage livery featuring prominent TCR branding.

“The final version of the 2017-spec STARD Kia Cee’d TCR has completed another 3000 km of race track testing”, read the statement. “Further improvements on the aerodynamics, suspension and engine package have fully kept what they promised in the simulation runs.”

The Kia Cee’d TCR marks the South Korean manufacturer’s first worldwide customer programme. Kia are part of the Hyundai-Kia group, which means that STARD’s work could in theory be used as a basis to develop a car from the sister Hyundai brand, as has already happened with the SEAT León Cup Racer, the Volkswagen Golf GTI TCR and the upcoming Audi RS 3 LMS.
