WRX programme makes STCC return unlikely for Johan Kristoffersson

Johan Kristoffersson has been confirmed for a World Rallycross Championship programme with Volkswagen and Petter Solberg. The programme clashes three times with the 2017 Scandinavian Touring Car Championship season, making a full-season return unlikely for the 2012 champion.

Kristoffersson finished third in the 2016 STCC season despite missing one round due to his WRX commitments and has said that he is interested in continuing with SEAT Dealer Team PWR Racing for the 2017 season.

But with the first and final two STCC races clashing with the WRX calendar, the SEAT team is likely to have to chase another driver.

PWR Racing would neither confirm nor deny whether Kristoffersson was still in dialogue with the team regarding the 2017 STCC season.
