Polesitter Jeff Smith to run soft tyres in Race One at Brands

Dunlop has revealed the tyre selections for the opening rounds of the new BTCC season at Brands Hatch.

Although most of the field have elected to run the option tyre in the third race of the weekend, polesitter Jeff Smith is amongst those to have gone with a different selection – with the Eurotech Racing man one of four drivers to fit the softer option in race one.

Motorbase pair Mat Jackson and Martin Depper will have the soft tyre in race one, with Ollie Jackson’s AmDTuning.com Audi the other car to have the soft option in race one.

A further eleven drivers will then run the option tyre in race two, including Jason Plato and Andrew Jordan, with the remainder of the pack then going with the third and final race of the weekend.
