Fredrik Ekblom ends official STCC pre-season test on top
Kristoffersson Motorsport driver Fredrik Ekblom lowered his best time once more in the final session of the official two-day pre-season test at Knutstorp, setting a time of 1:00.578, beating Honda driver Mattias Andersson with two tenths of a second.
Dennis Strandberg confirmed a strong debut for Lestrup Racing by claiming third, just seven thousands of a second from Andersson in P2.
Fredrik Blomstedt made it two Kristoffersson Motorsport Volkswagens in the top four, 0.347 seconds from his team-mate.
Marcus Annervi, who was second fastest in the morning session, claimed the final position in the top five, 0.384 seconds from the top time in his Honda Civic.
Niklas Lilja, driving for his own team LMP Engineering, made it two Hondas in the top six, 0.039 seconds off manufacturer colleague Annervi’s time.
Former Volvo driver Robert Dahlgren was fastest of the SEAT drivers for PWR Racing in seventh position and was the final driver below 1:01 with 1:00.945.
Brink Racing team-mates Tobias Brink and Micke Ohlsson claimed positions eight and nine, 0.556 and 0.852 seconds behind respectively in their pair of Audi RS 3 LMS’.
Nicklas Oscarsson was the final driver within the top ten in the all-new Kia Cee’d TCR for TeamA Teknik, 0.890 seconds from Ekblom’s time.
This session conclude the STCC pre-season test, with the season starting next weekend at Knutstorp.
