Daniele Cappellari confirms full season in TCR Italy

Daniele Cappellari, a podium scorer in last year’s TCR Italy, will return to the series in a DSG-equipped SEAT León TCR, which will feature the aerodynamic package from 2016.

“It was a challenging start to the year”, admitted the Veneto-based driver. “There were some surprises, which were not always positive. Only a couple of weeks ago did the programme come together, and I took delivery of the new car.”

Cappellari had been trying to secure a León equipped with a sequential gearbox, but there was not enough budget to buy one: “I was hoping to show up with a sequential gearbox-equipped car, but it didn’t come to fruition due to the budget issues. I trust in the new Balance of Performance, I’ve already raced in TCR Italy and I’m hoping to do my best this year again.”

The TCR Italy curtain raiser in Adria is scheduled for this weekend.
