Johan Kristoffersson fastest on return in first Alastaro test

2012 champion Johan Kristoffersson is back in the Scandinavian Touring Car Championship for the first time this season, topping the first test session of the race weekend in Alastaro, Finland.

The Volkswagen driver was alone in breaking the 1:18 barrier with 1:17.903. His closest rival was Lestrup Racing Team driver Dennis Strandberg in second, just over one tenth behind, while his team-mate Fredrik Blomstedt was third, just below four tenths of a second behind.

PWR Racing co-owner Daniel Haglöf was fourth fastest in his SEAT León, 0.684 seconds behind, while local driver Antti Buri rounded off the top five and was the final driver within one second of the top time.

Fellow Finnish driver Joonas Lappalainen was sixth fastest in his Audi RS 3 LMS, while last race winner Fredrik Ekblom claimed seventh.

Honda Racing Sweden’s Mattias Andersson was eighth fastest, 1.4 seconds from Kristoffersson, while championship leader Robert Dahlgren was ninth fastest. Honda driver Marcus Annervi rounded off the top ten.
