JAS send spare car to keep Attila Tassi in the race in Austria

Honda Civic TCR builders JAS Motorsport have despatched a new car to the Salzburgring, due to arrive at 4am tomorrow morning, in order for the M1RA team to be able to keep Attila Tassi’s championship charge alive following a crash in testing on Friday.

Tassi crashed out at Turn 9 in the second test session of the day at the high-speed Salzburgring, wrecking his #9 Honda Civic TCR in the process.

The 17-year-old escaped uninjured, but the car was deemed irreparable for this weekend’s races.

The team have arranged for a replacement car from JAS, which should arrive well before Free Practice 1 on Saturday, allowing the Hungarian to continue his title challenge, although he’ll have to start from the back of the grid for Race 1 after effectively changing engine.
