Johan Kristoffersson penalised and loses race one pole

Johan Kristoffersson has been stripped of his STCC race one pole position at Sovalla after receiving a post-qualifying penalty.

The Kristoffersson Motorsport driver was adjudged to have set his fastest time under yellow flags when Nicklas Oscarsson spun his Kia at the last corner at the end of Q1.

It means that PWR’s Daniel Haglöf will start the first race from pole, with Kristoffersson now starting from fourth.

For Haglöf, his pole position comes as a relief after his qualifying ended in Q2 with a broken driveshaft.

“It’s my first pole position in the STCC so I’m happy with that,” said Haglöf. “I was hoping to get one this year but perhaps not in this way.”

Fredrik Ekblom has been elevated to the front row of the grid, with his KMS team-mate Fredrik Blomstedt in third.
