Johan Kristofferrson ‘satisfied’ with near-perfect Solvalla weekend

Johan Kristoffersson declared himself ‘satisfied’ with his Solvalla weekend after taking two victories and a second place at the latest round of the Scandinavian Touring Car Championship.

The Kristoffersson Motorsport driver claimed a trio of pole positions, before being stripped of his race one starting spot on Friday before racing to his fourth and fifth consecutive race wins respectively.

Now just 19 points off championship leader Robert Dahlgren, Kristoffersson was delighted with how the weekend panned out.

Speaking to TouringCarTimes, Kristoffersson said: “I don’t think I could have asked for any more this weekend. We took advantage of the fact that the PWR SEAT’s couldn’t find the right pace. Race two was a bonus after I got a bad start and in the last race, Robert just had too much.”

Despite starting from two poles, Kristoffersson was left ruing the lack of grip from the front-row of the grd, due in large part to the Nordic Rallycross series racing just before.

Kristoffersson said: “the grip was bad enough beforehand but the rallycross cars put a lot of dirt down too which made the start tricky. My start itself was good but there just wasn’t enough traction.”

Kristoffersson will race the next two STCC rounds in Falkenberg and Karlskoga but due to World Rallycross comittments will not take part in the final two events at Anderstorp and Mantorp. Nevertheless, the KMS driver is confident he can be enough of a threat to Dahlgren in the championship.

“We will see, it will be possible but not realistic, with missing some rounds. The car has been working well throughout the weekend and I’m satisfied with how we’ve done this season,” Kristoffersson said.
