Johan Kristoffersson quickest in Solvalla warm-up

Johan Kristoffersson set the fastest time in his Kristoffersson Motorsport Volkswagen Golf GTI TCR in the morning warm-up of the Scandinavian Touring Car Championship round at Solvalla.

Kristoffersson, who will start race one from 4th after a post-qualifying penalty for a yellow flag infringement cost him a clean-sweep of pole positions, set the benchmark of 44.351 seconds and was never headed thereafter.

Mattias Andersson’s Honda Civic was the only to get within touching distance of the KMS driver albeit two-tenths adrift in second. The MAGP driver, who suffered a gearbox issue in Friday’s qualifying session, was a fraction over a tenth quicker than Dahlgren’s PWR SEAT Leon.

In contrast to Friday’s running, there were no notable incidents on track during the 15-minute session except for Tobias Brink’s minor trip through the turn one gravel trap after locking the brakes on his Brink Motorsport Audi RS 3 LMS.

The Audis once again struggled for overall pace and languished towards the rear of the field. Brink’s team-mate Micke Ohlsson did not take part in the session at all, while Joonas Lappalainen was again the sole RS 3 to make it into the top ten with another seventh place.

Having endured unenviable mechanical woes in the tests, Albin Wärnelöv managed 13 laps in his Lestrup Racing Golf GTI. The former Clio Cup racer will start all three races from the back of the grid after failing to take part in qualifying.

Race one at Solvala starts at 11:10 CET.
