New Kia Cee’d GT arrives for Ferenc Ficza just ahead of Free Practice 2
Ferenc Ficza’s brand-new Kia Cee’d GT TCR has arrived at the Hungaroring just hours ahead of the second free practice session, with the car not yet having turned a wheel.
The Zengõ Motorsport-run cars of Ficza and new team-mate for this weekend Daniel Nagy are going through scrutineering this morning before being admitted to the second official practice session, which starts at 12:15 CET.
While Nagy is driving a tried-and-tested SEAT León TCR V3, the only one of the team’s SEATs with the sequential gearbox, Ficza’s car hasn’t even been shaken down, with the car’s final assembly taking place at builder STARD’s base near Vienna yesterday.
“I arrived yesterday to collect the car at 10am, and it wasn’t ready,” said Zengõ team principal Zoltan Zengõ to TouringCarTimes.
“The driveshaft wasn’t installed, everything was still be worked on. We got the car here at 7:30 this morning, but nothing has been set-up yet. The seat isn’t in the right position, the steering wheel, anything. It’s all very last-minute.”
The team are busy preparing the car for practice. A Kia Cee’d GT TCR has already been in action this weekend, with the Botka Rally Team running a car for Istvan Bernula.
