No team orders at Kristoffersson Motorsport for Karlskoga
Kristoffersson Motorsport has announced that there will be no team orders for the Scandinavian Touring Car Championship races at Karlskoga this weekend, despite the season nearing its end.
Johan Kristoffersson, son to team owner Tommy Kristoffersson, is placed second in the championship behind main rival and SEAT driver Robert Dahlgren, 12 points adrift, but will drive his final race weekend of the season due to his World Rallycross commitments.
”I have a clear goal with the weekend and that is to reach the championship lead, but I must have a really good weekend to gain 12 points,” said Johan Kristoffersson.
Team-mate Fredrik Ekblom is third, 32 points behind, but the team will not drive tactically.
”We have always driven for victories in each race and the drivers have been able to race freely. We have won nine of 12 races and even if we are not leading the drivers’ championship, we have got a lot of attention. I would not have liked to do it any other way,” said Tommy Kristoffersson.
Ekblom lost vital ground in the previous race at Falkenberg due to a puncture in the final race.
”We would have been just four points behind the lead without that puncture. (Dahlgren) has had a good season so far, but he can’t expect to have it like that all the way to the season end,” said Ekblom.
