Fredrik Blomstedt quickest in morning warm up at Anderstorp
Kristoffersson Motorsport’s Fredrik Blomstedt set the fastest time in the morning warm up at Anderstorp. The Volkswagen Golf GTI driver, who will start the second race from pole, set a time of 1:39.289, beating the Audi RS 3 LMS of Joonas Lappalainen by near four-tenths.
Nicklas Oscarsson, who sustained heavy damage to the rear of his Kia C’eed following a crash Saturday’s first test, put in a late charge to end up third quickest.
Blomstedt’s KMS team-mate Fredrik Ekblom had another frustrating session, suffering a fourth puncture in two days, eventually posting the fifth quickest time, behind the Mattias Andersson’s Honda.
The Micke Kågered Volkswagen Golf GTI of Andreas Ahlberg was the first to set a representative lap-time after the initial installation laps, posting a time of 1:41.105, a mere two-hundredths of a second quicker than the Audi RS 3 LMS of Mikaela Åhlin-Kottulinsky.
But the times quickly fell as the 15-minute session progressed, with Lappalainen, who starts all three races from fifth in his Kart in Club Academy Audi RS 3 LMS, and Blomstedt each taking turns at the top of the standings.
Blomstedt was able to stretch his legs late in the session, albeit running on average one second slower than his first test lap-time. Indeed, none of the top runners appeared to overly focus on lap-time with championship leader Robert Dahlgren in the PWR Racing SEAT León down in ninth, three places behind team-mate – and race one pole-sitter Daniel Haglöf.
Race One at Anderstorp begins at 11:00 CET.
