Fredrik Ekblom continues on top in STCC season finale testing

Volkswagen’s Fredrik Ekblom was once again fastest in the second test of the STCC season finale weekend at Mantorp Park, this time beating local driver Mattias Andersson who was 0.039 seconds behind with his Honda Civic.

STCC returnee Andreas Wernersson showed strong form by claiming the third fastest time for Lestrup Racing, four tenths from Ekblom.

Championship leader Robert Dahlgren, who only needs to score three points this weekend to claim the title, was fourth fastest ahead of PWR Racing team-mate Daniel Haglöf in fifth, 0.360 and 0.439 seconds behind respectively.

Ekblom’s team-mate Fredrik Blomstedt claimed position six ahead of the fastest Audi driver in the form of Reuben Kressner in seventh for Brovallen Design.

Albin Wernerlöv rounded off the top eight in his Lestrup Racing-prepared Volkswagen Golf GTI, close to one second from the top time.

Next up is qualifying, starting at 15:30 CEST.
