Craft-Bamboo Racing looking at both TCR UK and International in ‘18

Front-running touring car team Craft-Bamboo Racing have confirmed they’re also looking at running cars in the new-for-2018 TCR UK series, as well as to continue for a third year in the TCR International Series.

The outfit operate out of both Hong Kong, and Silverstone in the UK, and finished as runner-up in the first two seasons of the TCR International Series. The team are the leading SEAT-equipped squad in the championship.

With rival team WestCoast Racing announcing it’s looking to compete in the TCR UK series next year, Craft-Bamboo have also confirmed they’re evaluating a programme in 2018, with all options in respect of the car or branding open.

“We are considering TCR UK but would only do so for the right drivers or prospects,” said team CEO Richard Coleman to TouringCarTimes “We would also be interested in running something white label for somebody else from our Silverstone facility if it adds up; we have a lot of TCR knowledge and know the UK circuit well.”

The team also plan to continue racing in the TCR International Series next year, but admitted a change of manufacturer is also possible.

“We’re looking to continue in the TCR International series next year,” added Coleman. “We have had three very successful years with SEAT Sport and are talking about continuing into next season. We also have interest from other brands but we will see; at the moment, we are focussed on wins in China and the UAE. There is plenty of time to talk about next year. We will make a decision with our partner Lukoil in due course.”
