Massimiliano Chini joins TCR Italy DSG Trophy

Massimiliano Chini has confirmed that he will do battle for the DSG Trophy in the TCR Italy series during the 2018 season.

Chini’s won the 2014 title in the Second Division of the Italian Touring Endurance Championship with a SEAT León Supercópa and moved into TCR-spec cars in 2016, taking part in selected events of the Italian series with a SEAT León Cup Racer.

His best result came at Mugello last year, where he took fifth place in race two.

The NOS-Ermete Racing team will run Chini’s Volkswagen Golf GTI TCR.

“I can’t wait for the championship to start, I am really motivated,” he said. “I have worked very much during the winter, with fitness and testing.

“I think the DSG Trophy is the ideal dimension for amateur drivers. We are given the opportunity to fight for a title and yet racing together the professionals. It’s easy to predict that competition on the track will be tough, because the TCR Italy has grown a lot in the two latest years.”
