26-car field announced for Paul Ricard curtain raiser

The entry list for the TCR Europe curtain raiser at Paul Ricard, France, has been released. It features 26 cars, of which eight Hyundai i30 N TCRs and five Honda Civic TCRs.

National champions Josh Files (Germany and Middle East) and Nicola Baldan (Italy) will race alongside two former International Series champions, with Stefano Comini at the wheel of a Subaru WRX STI TCR and Jean-Karl Vernay in his WRT-run Audi RS 3 LMS.

Pit Lane Competizioni have entered four cars as TCR Italy will race at the same venue the following weekend, including Enrico Bettera who is currently second in the championship after the season opener at Imola.

The Hyundai patrol stands out as former ETCC champion Kris Richard, TCR International Series front runner Dusan Borkovic and Daniel Nagy, fresh from his WTCR wild card entry on his home soil will all be on the grid. Honda feature multiple TCR Germany champion and TCR International Series race winner Attila Tassi. Five Cupras have been entered, including former SEAT León Eurocup front runner Mikel Azcona.

Among the four Audis entered will be Jean-Karl Vernay, as well as Enrico Bettera. Volkswagen will be represented by a single entry with TCR Benelux race winner Maxime Potty’s Golf GTI TCR run by Comtoyou Racing.
