Daniel Nagy tops red-flagged Free Practice 1

Home hero Daniel Nagy set the fastest lap time of the session in the first free practice at Hungaroring. The M1RA driver finished ahead of KCMG’s Josh Files and fellow Hyundai driver Dusan Borkovic.

The session was red-flagged with 17 minutes to go due to Target Competition’s Reece Barr going off in the second sector, the whole field losing almost 10 minutes of track time. Despite this, the Irishman was fourth ahead of WRT’s Jean-Karl Vernay. Attila Tassi was sixth on home soil in the second KCMG Honda, ahead of Francisco Mora’s Hyundai.

Maxime Potty was eighth in his Volkswagen Golf, ahead of Kris Richard in his Target Competition Hyundai i30 N TCR. Stefano Comini completed the top ten in his THX Honda Civic.

Championship leader Mikel Azcona was down in 13th in his Cupra, while Julien Briché was 15th in his Peugeot after his successful outing last time out at Spa-Francorchamps.

Free Practice 2 is scheduled for 16:00 CEST.
