Johan Kristoffersson leads the way in the first practice at Falkenberg

Johan Kristoffersson was fastest of all in the first test at Falkenberg, leading a Volkswagen 1-2 in his KMS Golf GTI TCR, with Fredrik Ekblom second fastest in his WestCoast Racing entry.

The rallycross champion was the first driver to drop under the 47 second barrier around the short and fast 1.8km circuit, further improving his time to 45.439, set before ten minutes were up, with no one able to go any faster.

Ekblom found more pace as the session went on, with the three-time champion just seven-thousandths of a second behind at the end of the session.

Anderstorp Race 2 winner Tobias Brink was third fastest in his Audi RS 3 LMS, with Andreas Wernersson fourth fastest in his Lestrup Racing Team Volkswagen Golf.

Daniel Haglöf was the best-placed of the PWR Racing Cupra TCRs in fifth, ahead of team-mate Philip Morin.

Andreas Ahlberg was seventh fastest in the Micke Kågered Racing Volkswagen, with championship leader Robert Dahlgren, carrying 20kg of success ballast onboard his PWR Racing Cupra TCR, eighth fastest, just under four-tenths off the pace.

Junior class points leader Hugo Nerman was ninth quickest in his KMS Volkswagen, with Mattias Andersson in his MA:GP Honda Civic completing the top ten.

The next test session is scheduled for 13:30 CEST.
