Philip Morin sets the fastest lap of the weekend in Sunday warm up

Philip Morin was fastest of all in his PWR Racing Cupra TCR in the morning warm up at Falkenberg, setting a time of 45.098, two-tenths clear of PWR team-mate Daniel Haglöf.

With the rain that hit yesterday’s qualifying session long gone, the ten-minute warm up was held in perfectly dry and cool conditions, with the 1.8km circuit allowing for a number of quick laps to be set.

The top position on the time sheets exchanged hands a number of times, with Morin, LMS Racing’s Olli Kangas, PWR’s Robert Dahlgren and KMS’s Nicklas Oscarsson all taking turns to lead the timing, before Morin settled into a rhythm.

Haglöf made a late improvement to go second, with Johan Kristoffersson the two Cupra drivers closest challenger in third in his KMS Volkswagen Golf GTI TCR.

Today’s pole-sitter Robert Dahlgren was fourth ahead of Mattias Andersson’s Honda Civic, with Fredrik Ekblom sixth in the WestCoast Racing Volkswagen ahead of Mikaela Åhlin-Kottulinsky’s Cupra.

The two Volkswagens of Andreas Wernersson and Nicklas Oscarsson followed, with the Audi RS 3 LMS of Tobias Brink completing the top ten.

The first race is scheduled for 13:00 CEST.
