Jason Bright in Supercars return for Enduro Cup rounds

Jason Bright will make a return to the Supercars Championship after joining Charlie Schwerkolt Racing for the three rounds that make up the Pirtek Enduro Cup.

The former Bathurst winner, who retired from full-time competition at the end of last season, will join forces with Lee Holdsworth at the wheel of the #18 Holden Commodore.

Bright replaces Matthew Brabham, who had originally signed up for the drive but will now step aside to allow the more experienced multi-race winner to fill the seat for the Sandown 500, Bathurst 1000 and Gold Coast 600.

“Our team has made a really tough call and has asked Matt Brabham to step aside for our 2018 Enduro campaign,” team boss Charlie Schwerkolt said. “Our category is so competitive and with limited test days it makes it incredibly difficult to get up to speed.

“Matty’s an amazing guy with incredible potential. The team and I are really thankful for his time and we look forward to seeing him again soon with Preston Hire Racing.

“I’d really like to welcome Jason Bright in joining the team and filling in at such short notice. He has a wealth of experience and look forward to seeing what he can bring to the team.”
