Stian Paulsen on Race 2 pole after deleted Q2 times rescinded

Stian Paulsen will start the second TCR Europe race at Assen from pole position after a number of deleted times were reinstated after qualifying. The reason for the times being reinstated has not yet been announced by the stewards.

Several drivers, including title contenders Dániel Nagy (M1RA), Dusan Borkovic (Target Competition) and Mikel Azcona (PCR Sport) initially had their best qualifying times deleted in Q2, leaving them eighth, 11th and 12th respectively.

Their times were then reinstated, which means Nagy will start third, with Azcona seventh on the grid.

Borkovic set the seventh fastest time, but will start the opening race from tenth following a three-place grid penalty received in the previous round in Hungary.

The penalty only applies for Race 1, meaning on the reversed grid second race, Borkovic takes up the fourth starting position, one place behind Azcona.

JSB Compétition’s Julien Briché joins Paulsen on the front row in his Peugeot 308TCR, while KCMG Honda Civic Type R FK8 driver Attila Tassi starts behind Borkovic in fifth.

Borkovic’s Target Competition team-mate Kris Richard starts sixth for Race 2, ahead of Nagy and Maxime Potty. Josh Files will start Race 1 from fourth following his own three-place penalty and 10th for Race 2.

Race 1 at Assen is scheduled to start at 14:51 CEST. Updated grid for Race 2 below.
