Ash Sutton, Tom Ingram excluded from second Knockhill race (updated)

Andrew Jordan has been named as the winner of the second BTCC race of the weekend at Knockhill after the exclusion of both Ash Sutton and Tom Ingram from the results.

Sutton had taken the victory on the road ahead of Ingram but both the Team BMR Subaru and the Speedworks-run Toyota Avensis then failed the post-race ride height check when the cars returned to the pits after the chequered flag went out.

The decision means Jordan becomes the 13th different winner this season and will leave both Sutton and Ingram at the back of the field for Race 3, but both with 75kg and 68kg of ballast respectively.

It also means an extended lead in the standings for Colin Turkington, who is now 24 points clear of Tom Ingram, and who has the chance to extend his advantage still further in the final race of the weekend.

The reversed grid draw is also affected, with Motorbase Ford’s Tom Chilton now set to start from pole ahead of Ciceley Motorsport’s Andrew Jordan, with Colin Turkington ‘demoted’ to third.

Update:

Subaru Team BMR filed an appeal against Ash Sutton’s exclusion. This was heard by the stewards and rejected, with Sutton’s exclusion from the race still standing.
