Enrico Bettera takes pole position at Misano

Enrico Bettera, at the wheel of an Audi RS 3 LMS, set the fastest lap time in this morning’s TCR Italy qualifying session at Misano to take pole position for the opening race of the weekend.

Bettera set a best lap time of 1:51.827, with standings leader Salvatore Tavano, driving the Cupra TCR from Scuderia del Girasole, in second place, 0.785 seconds behind. Mauro Guidetti was third, 1.347 seconds off the pace, with his Audi RS 3 LMS.

Eric Scalvini, with the sister Cupra TCR from Scuderia del Girasole, qualified in fourth position, 1.434 seconds off the pace, with team-mate Matteo Greco, also with a Cupra TCR, in fifth, a further tenth behind.

Max Mugelli was sixth with the first of the Alfa Romeo Giulietta TCRs, followed by Matteo Bergonzini’s Cupra TCR, three seconds off the pace.

Marco Pellegrini Anatrella drove the fastest Hyundai i30 N TCR to eighth, 3.7 seconds off the pace – giving him pole position for Race 2 due to the reverse grid rule for the top eight classified drivers.

Felix Wimmer the first of the Cupra TCRs from Team Wimmer Werk MS, was a tenth behind in ninth with Andre Argenti, at the wheel of an Opel Astra TCR, completing the top ten.

The start of Race 1 is scheduled for 15:50 CEST.
