TCR Denmark present new preliminary 2020 calendar

TCR Denmark has finalised a new preliminary calendar for the 2020 season. The inaugural season will be held over five weekends with a double header to take place at FDM Jyllandsringen on the 5-6th of September.

“Seeing how everyone in the motorsport scene have stuck together in difficult times has been great, and we have gone to great lengths to make everything work,” said Martin Jensen, CEO of TCR Denmark.

“But we did it and made the best we could from a very short season. On the behalf of TCR Denmark I would like to thank FDM Jyllandsringen, Padborg Park and Ring Djursland for the open minds they have had when trying to find the best solutions.”

The season opener is now scheduled for June 20-21 on FDM Jyllandsringen, originally known as the Juniløbet. Spectators are not expected to be allowed trackside for this race weekend – hopes are that the remaining race weekends will be open for the public, although this depends on government decisions.

The series returns to Jyllandsringen on the 5-6th of September with a double header, featuring qualifying and three races on the Saturday and Sunday.

Ring Djursland hosts the third round in the final weekend of September, followed by Padborg Park on October 10-11.

The annual Grand Prix Danmark race, also held at FDM Jyllandsringen, will be held as the season finale on the 23-25th of October.

Gone from the calendar is the Copenhagen Grand Prix, previously scheduled for August 1-2, where PURE ETCR and STCC TCR Scandinavia also were supposed to race.
