Kasper H. Jensen claims first TCR Denmark pole position

After dominating the two free practice sessions, Massive Motorsport driver Kasper H. Jensen driver stayed on top to secure the first ever TCR Denmark series pole position.

Jensen posted a lap time 1:09.654 behind the wheel of his Honda Civic Type-R TCR to maintain his position as the man to beat at Jyllandsringen.

The first half of the qualifying session saw the drivers trying to sweep off the dust from the surface at Turn 5, caused by a spill from a car in the previous session. In the last five minutes of the session, however, lap times were coming down fast.

LM Racing driver Nicolai Sylvest claimed second position on the grid, 0.151 seconds from pole, ahead of Martin Andersen, driving a Hyundai i30 N TCR, in third.

Sylvest’s team-mate, Jan Magnussen, was fourth quickest, posting a lap time of 1:10.101 and was just below half a second from pole.

René Povlsen set a lap time of 1:10.992, putting him fifth on the grid for the first race tomorrow.

Peugeot 308TCR driver Michael Markussen was sixth fastest ahead of Massive Motorsport’s Kenn Bach and Volkswagen driver Allan Kristensen.

Jacob Mathiassen suffered a technical issue with his Alfa Romeo Giulietta TCR and will start the first heat from the back of the grid.

The first race of the weekend starts tomorrow at 11:10 CEST.
