Nicolas Baert goes quickest in final Jarama practice

Nicolas Baert was fastest in the final free practice session of the TCR Europe season finale weekend at Jarama.

The Comtoyou Racing driver set a lap time of 1:38.129 and was 0.101 seconds quicker than Teddy Clairet.

JSB Compétition driver Julien Briché made it two Peugeot 308TCRs in the top three, just 65 thousands of a second behind his manufacturer colleague.

Mat’o Homola was fourth fastest behind the wheel of his Hyundai i30 N TCR while Jimmy Clairet rounded off the top five.

Jessica Bäckman headed a Target Competition trio in sixth, with team-mates John Filippi and José Manuel Sapag in seventh and eighth.

Audi RS 3 LMS driver Mehdi Bennani, who is placed second overall, was ninth quickest as Comtoyou Racing team-mate Sami Taoufik rounded off the top ten, six tenths off Baert’s time.

Points leader Mike Halder struggled once again, setting the 19th fastest time behind the wheel of his Honda Civic Type-R TCR, 1.227 seconds from the top time.

Qualifying starts at 15:00 CET.
