TCR South America welcomes first Argentinian team

Chetta Racing has become the first team from Argentina to confirm an entry into the new TCR South America series, which will kick off this season.

The team, headed by entrepreneur and Honda dealer Guillermo Chetta, is set to field a Honda Civic Type R during 2021 having acquired a car that was previously raced in Italy by the MM Motorsport team.

The car has already undergone a shakedown test prior to departing for South America, with Néstor Girolami having got behind the wheel for a run at the Tazio Nuvolari circuit in Italy.

“I am very pleased to join TCR South America,” Chetta said. “TCR is a new concept for our region and so we are anxiously waiting the delivery of the car to our country so that we can start working to prepare for the season.

“This has been another step forward within the successful relationship we have with Honda and we hope we will be able to repeat in TCR South America the same results we had in the national competitions.”
