Cyro Fontes replaces Santiago Urrutia at PMO Motorsport

Cyro Fontes is going to replace Santiago Urrutia at PMO Motorsport for the TCR South America races at El Pinar in Uruguay this weekend.

“I’m very happy to join PMO Motorsport and I hope that we together can secure some strong results this weekend,” said Fontes.

“I’m also very excited to race the Lynk & Co 03 TCR, a very competitive car that PMO Motorsport made an impressive debut with in TCR South America three weeks ago.”

Fontes raced for rival Honda team Squadra Martino in the previous TCR South America round, retiring from the first race and was unable to start the second.

The Uruguayan driver is also racing for FDC Motor Sports in the TC2000 Argentina championship this year, currently placed tenth overall.

PMO Motorsport made its TCR South America debut with a pair of Lynk & Co 03 TCRs during the previous round at the Rivera circuit, with Urrutia claiming a victory in the first race and team-mate Pablo Otero finishing third.

Urrutia is unable to take part in this weekend’s races due to clashing commitments with his Lynk & Co Cyan Racing drive in the WTCR. There is no information yet for the team who is going to drive this car for the next TCR South America round.
