José Manuel Sapag not satisfied after missing pole position by 0,008 seconds

Squadra Martino driver José Manuel Sapag will start the Buenos Aires endurance race from second place tomorrow with co-driver and WTCR title contender Esteban Guerrieri, missing pole by just eight thousands of a second.

“I was fastest in my group, but you can never feel satisfied. We missed pole position by just 0,008 seconds. But second place it’s still good,” said Sapag to TouringCarTimes.

The duo was beaten to pole by team-mates Juan Ángel Rosso and Matías Milla.

“Our strategies are flexible, we have yet to decide who will start and when we would make the stop to change drivers. Perhaps I take the start if Matías Milla takes the start in Rosso’s car,” said Sapag.

Sapag was impressed by the performance of the Honda, with the Japanese manufacturer occupying the top three positions in qualifying. “I think the compensation weight played in our favour this weekend.”
