Jan Magnussen returns with LM Racing that expands to three Cupras

Former F1 driver Jan Magnussen will be back with LM Racing for the 2022 TCR Denmark season as the team expands to three Cupras for Kenn Bach and Lars Højris.

“I have high expectations for the coming season and I’m really looking forward to getting started,” said Magnussen.

Magnussen showed strong pace throughout 2021 but was out from the title fight following a series of crashes.

“2021 clearly showed that we have a really strong team and a fast and competitive car in our Cupra,” said Magnussen.

“I took the lead early in the season and was flying, but was hit by some disastrous weekends with crashes which meant that I missed some races. It cost dearly in the points account, and the fact that I also missed a race weekend due to my participation in the 24-hour race at Le Mans did not make the situation better.

“I hope that we have used our quota for accidents and that I can look forward to a 2022 season where we get more of the good weekends.”

Bach joins the team after two seasons with Massive Motorsport, finishing eighth this year.

“I had actually made up my mind a bit that it was probably time to stop as a driver, but it felt somewhat unresolved for me,” said Bach.

“Then this opportunity arose and I am really looking forward to it. It will be mega cool to have Jan as team-mate, so I am happy that I can give TCR Denmark a new shot in the coming season.”

Højris made his TCR Denmark debut this year with his own team, driving an Opel Astra, and will for 2022 drive a Cupra León Competición with support from LM Racing.

“I am really looking forward to the new collaboration and we look forward to get started this season. LM Racing comes with lots of experience with the Cupras and I’m excited to see what we can do together,” said Højris.
