Kasper Jensen claims Padborg Park opener pole position

Reigning champion Kasper Jensen claimed the first TCR Denmark pole position in qualifying for the Padborg Park season opener.

The GMB Motorsport Honda driver lapped the Danish circuit in 1:01.349, beating team-mate Gustav Birch by two tenths of a second.

Mike Halder of TPR Motorsport, who topped the Q1 session, made it three Hondas in the top three positions, 0.239 seconds from pole.

Cupra driver Michael Markussen was the best non-Honda driver in fourth position, just below four tenths from Jensen’s best time.

Meteor Racing driver René Povlsen rounded off the top five behind the wheel of his new generation Audi RS 3 LMS.

Nicolai Sylvest (Cupra), Kenn Bach (Cupra) and Jacob Mathiassen (Alfa Romeo) rounded off the top eight.

The first race of the weekend starts at 10:10 CEST on Sunday.
