Donington GP return headlines 2023 BTCC calendar
The return of the Donington Park Grand Prix circuit for the first time in more than 20 years is the stand out change after the BTCC announced its calendar for the 2023 campaign.
Donington will host two meetings next season, with the season opener taking place on the shorter National layout in late April before the GP circuit hosts round eight in late August.
It marks the first time that NGTC cars will have raced on the full Donington layout, which was last used back in 2002.
The decision to run two rounds at Donington means Thruxton reverts to having a single round, which will take place in June after events at Brands Hatch Indy and Snetterton – the latter moving forwards from its usual slot after the summer break.
Oulton Park and Croft sit either side of that break before the trip to Knockhill, with Silverstone and Brands Hatch GP rounding out the campaign.
“I’m very pleased to be able to confirm our 2023 British Touring Car Championship calendar,” series boss Alan Gow said.
“We’ve never announced a following season schedule as early as May before, which provides great forward planning for our teams, partners, fans and all stakeholders.”
