Juan Ángel Rosso claims wet Riviera pole position

Juan Ángel Rosso claimed the TCR South America pole position at Riviera, a qualifying session held in wet conditions which caused a delay of the schedule.

The Squadra Martino driver lapped the Uruguayan circuit in 1:25.870, beating W2 PRO GP driver Raphael Reis by just 74 thousands of a second.

Reis’ team-mate Alceu Feldmann made it two Cupras in the top three, 0.577 seconds from pole.

Points leader Fabricio Pezzini could only manage fourth position for PMO Motorsport, close to nine tenths from pole.

Prop Car Racing driver Rodrigo Aramendia was fifth fastest and the first driver over a second from the pole position lap time.

Pedro Aizza (Hyundai), Gabriel Lusquiños (Honda) and Juan Manuel Casella rounded off the top eight.

The first race of the weekend starts at 09:30 local time/14:30 CEST.
