Nicolai Sylvest wins again in shortened, rain-affected final Copenhagen race

Nicolai Sylvest made it two wins from three TCR Denmark races on the streets of Copenhagen, winning the final race which was ended early behind the safety car due to a sudden downpour of rain.

TPR Motorsport driver Mike Halder started from pole position but was overtaken by Sylvest before the end of the first lap.

The safety car was called into action following a start incident between Lars Højris and Allan Kristensen which saw Højris retiring from the race.

The Cupra driver made a better start than Kristensen but was collected as he tried moved over on the Audi rival.

The race was resumed with nine minutes left of the race as rain started to fall over Copenhagen.

Reigning champion Kasper Jensen made a move on fellow Honda driver Halder to snatch second place.

The rain increased in strength, seeing the safety car head out on track and leading the field over the finish line where the chequered flag was showed before the end time of the race.

Sylvest won the race ahead of Jensen and Halder.

Honda driver Gustav Birch was fourth ahead of Outzen Motorsport driver Philip Lindberg while Michael Markussen (Cupra) rounded off the top six.

The next TCR Denmark race will be held at Jyllandsringen on August 26-28.
