Kevin Engman claims maiden TCR Denmark win in second Jyllandsringen race

Kevin Engman claimed his maiden TCR Denmark victory in the second race of the season opener weekend at Jyllandsringen.

The Auto Lounge Racing driver made a lightning start from third on the grid to overtake reversed grid pole sitter Lars Højris Nielsen and Kevin Brandsborg.

Disaster struck race one winner Kasper Jensen who made contact with Nicolai Sylvest on the opening lap and was forced to pit and retire with suspension damage.

TPR Motorsport driver Mike Halder started sixth and made progress during the race, passing Højris Nielsen for fourth on the second lap.

Cupra driver Jan Magnussen was also on the move initially, making his way up to fifth place, only to drop pace towards the end of the race and was passed by Michelle Halder who finished fourth..

Engman, who had a last lap scare as lapped driver Johnny Vejlebo Nielsen ignored blue flags, won the race six seconds ahead of Brandsborg.

Cupra driver Michael Markussen claimed the final podium finish ahead of the Halder siblings, with Mike in fourth and Michelle fifth.

Magnussen crossed the finishing line in sixth ahead of a recovering Birch in seventh while Norwegian Honda driver Didrik Esbjug rounded off the top eight.

The third and final race of the weekend starts at 15:25 CEST.
