Kasper Jensen cruises to Padborg Park Race 1 win

Points leader Kasper Jensen controlled the first TCR Denmark race of the weekend at Padborg Park, heading the field from lights to flag.

Cupra driver Michael Markussen got a slow getaway from second place on the grid and was passed by Green Development driver Nicolai Sylvest into Turn 1.

Auto Lounge Racing driver Christian Skaar made a mistake during the first lap and crashed into the barriers, retiring from the race.

Title challenger Jan Magnussen (Cupra) was able to get past Kevin Brandsborg (Honda) for fifth position in a race which was rather static otherwise.

Jensen won the race close to 1,5 seconds ahead of Sylvest while Markussen was just over six seconds behind in third.

Jensen’s team-mate Gustav Birch finished fourth ahead of Magnussen while Brandsborg rounded off the top six.

TPR Motorsport driver Mike Halder will start the second race from the reversed grid pole position after finishing tenth in this race.

Race 2 starts at 19:00 CEST tonight.
