Kasper Jensen wins Padborg Park night race finale

Kasper Jensen took another step closer to his fourth consecutive TCR Denmark title after dominating the third and final night race at Padborg Park to his second win of the weekend.

The GMB Motorsport driver started from pole, made a strong start and kept the lead throughout the race.

Race 2 winner Mike Halder closed in at the end of the race, but did not get close enough to challenge Jensen.

Hyundai i30 N TCR driver Martin Andersen passed Halder during the start but fell down to third again before the end of the first lap, a position he kept throughout the race.

Disaster struck Jan Magnussen who had to pit at the end of lap one due to a technical issue with his Auto Lounge Racing prepared Audi RS 3 LMS.

Kevin Engman had to defend hard again to keep fourth place from Nicolai Sylvest and Gustav Birch.

Jensen won the race half a second ahead of Halder and 3.5 seconds ahead of Andersen.

Engman was a distant fourth, 18 seconds from race winner Jensen, ahead of Sylvest and Birch.

The final race of the 2023 season will be held on September 29-30 at Jyllandsringen.
