Mike Halder wins Race 2 in Padborg Park twilight

Mike Halder headed the field from the reversed grid pole position to win Race 2 at Padborg Park, held in twilight conditions.

The TPR Motorsport driver never looked back after a solid start, despite an early safety car session.

The safety car was called into action as Nicolai Sylvest tried to overtake Michael Markussen with a late move, resulting in a retirement for both. Markussen ended his race in the gravel while Sylvest limped back into the pits with a broken front suspension on his Cupra.

Race 1 winner Kasper Jensen made a strong start from tenth position and was up to seventh on lap one.

The GMB Motorsport driver passed title rival Jan Magnussen straight after the safety car restart to sixth position.

There was a tough fight for second place between Martin Andersen (Hyundai) and Philip Lindberg (Honda), with the latter piling the pressure throughout the race but was unable to get past.

Halder won the race 2.4 seconds ahead of Andersen, with Lindberg on the final podium position.

Kevin Engman of Auto Lounge Racing held on to fourth place despite hard pressure from Kevin Brandsborg (Honda) and Jensen.

Magnussen struggled for pace and was a lonely seventh, having to defend from Silas Rytter (Hyundai) at the end of the race.

The third and final race of the weekend starts at 20:00 CEST.
