Jimmy Clairet hit with grid penalty for speeding in pit lane

Jimmy Clairet has been hit with a grid penalty after the joint TCR World Tour and TCR Australia qualifying session for speeding in pit lane.

The Peugeot 308TCR driver was caught doing 49 km/h in the pits during qualifying when the limit is 40 km/h.

Clairet has been handed a three-place grid penalty for Race 1, dropping him from ninth to 12th place on the grid.

The penalty elevates Zac Soutar to ninth, Iain McDougall to tenth and Néstor Giroami to eleventh.
