Yann Ehrlacher bounces back to top second Bathurst practice
Yann Ehrlacher was back on form in the second free practice session at the Mount Panorama Circuit in Bathurst after his engine failure during the first free practice session.
The Cyan Racing driver lapped the circuit in 2:14.6698, beating Tony D’Alberto, who topped the first session, by 0.1643.
The engine change does however mean that Ehrlacher will face a grid drop penalty for the first race.
Néstor Girolami made it two Wall Racing Hondas in the top three, 0.3473 seconds from the top time.
Santiago Urrutia, who was second fastest in the first session, was fourth fastest ahead of the top Audi driver in the form of Frédéric Vervisch.
Ma Qing Hua put his Lynk & Co 03 TCR in six position, with Will Brown (Audi) and Thed Björk (Lynk & Co) in positions seven and eight.
Aaron Cameron was fastest of the GRM Peugeot drivers in ninth position, 1.2372 seconds from the top time, while HMO Hyundai driver Bailey Sweeny rounded off the top ten.
Next up for the joint TCR World Tour and TCR Australia field is qualifying, starting at 12:35 local time/02:35 CET on Saturday.
