Rob Huff: “We’ve been consistent and clever”
Rob Huff was close to 40 points from the TCR World Tour points lead a couple of race weekends ago but heads to the Macau season finale in a joint championship lead with Yann Ehrlacher.
“I’m obviously delighted with the Australian tour, but even going back before that, we arrived in South America quite far from the lead. From there we just made really good steps forward with consistency, scoring well, being clever and huge amounts of teamwork,” said Huff to TouringCarTimes.
While Huff heads to Macau with “only” one team-mate in the form of Frédéric Vervisch compared to title rival Ehrlacher’s three team-mates and Michelisz’s two, the Brit is a well known Macau specialist and heads there without any compensation weight.
“Our mechanics and engineers have really put in an extra effort, but also having a great team-mate in Frédéric Vervisch who is probably the most amazing team-mate you could ever ask for,” said Huff.
“The cumulation of all of that has resulted in us going to my most successful circuit ever in a joint points lead, which is exactly what we have been aiming for. I’m hugely proud of what we have achieved so far and it’s all to play for in Macau.”
Huff heads the standings together with Ehrlacher on 384 points, with Hyundai’s Michelisz just one point further behind in third.
