STCC reveals new production images as electric era draws closer

Organisers of the STCC have released images of the ongoing work to produce the twelve cars that will be used this season when the series switches to electric power for the first time.

EPWR is currently hard at work on three Tesla Model 3, three BMW i4, three CUPRA Born and three Volkswagen ID.3 models, with the VW being the only one yet to be revealed to the public.

That is currently scheduled for the Custom Motor Show at the Elmia fair in Sweden on April 29.

“We have just come home from EPWR in Vikmanshyttan with a really good feeling after seeing the production of the brand-new STCC cars,” series CEO Micke Bern said.

“We are on the right track, and now it is not long until we will unleash them on the tracks and write a completely new, climate-smart chapter for Scandinavian elite racing.”

The series had been due to switch to electric power last year only for plans to be put back due to a raft of unforeseen production delays.

The first rounds are now set to take place in Gothenburg in June.

“Production is running at high pace,” Micke Jansson, CEO of EPWR said, “and we look forward to the next big step, delivering the racing cars to the teams before the season – a key part of our work together with STCC to create a climate-smart future for national motorsport.”
