Tom Ingram doubles up in second Donington Park race

Tom Ingram produced a superb late move on Jake Hill to claim a second victory of the day in the British Touring Car Championship at Donington Park.

The Team BRISTOL STREET MOTORS driver made it two wins from two in the UK’s premier motorsport series as he dived down the inside of the BMW on the run down the Craner Curves with four laps to go and once clear, he was unchallenged.

Reigning champion Ash Sutton secured a second podium finish of the day with Laser Tools Racing’s Hill ultimately settling for the third step on the podium.

Hill had been the driver to beat for much of the contest after vaulting into the lead off line from third on the grid, with the BMW driver managing the gap to Ingram and Sutton for much of the bout before the tussling champions closed in.

With tyre wear becoming an issue for the rear-wheel-drive machine, Ingram made his move on lap 14 of 18 with a bold move down inside of Hill as they began their descent down the Craner Curves. Sutton would waste no time in muscling past too as he charged down the inside at the Old Hairpin.

Behind the top three, Josh Cook held off the charging Colin Turkington and Dan Cammish to claim fourth while Adam Morgan produced a storming drive to finish seventh ahead of Aiden Moffat.

Rob Huff underlined his talents behind the wheel of the Toyota Corolla to move forward into ninth with Dan Rowbottom completing the top ten.

The third and final race of the day at Donington Park is scheduled to begin at 18:10 local time/19:10 CEST.
