Tobias Brink on top again as STCC pre-season testing concludes at Knutstorp

Tesla driver Tobias Brink was on top again as the STCC held its final day of pre-season testing at Knutstorp.

The Brink Motorsport driver lapped the short and twisty circuit in 1:04.706, beating team-mate Jimmy Eriksson by just 0.058 seconds.

Brink and the majority of drivers set their times during the fourth test session of the day which featured a qualifying shoot out simulation where all drivers just had one lap each.

BMW driver Oliver Söderström broke the Tesla dominance for Exion Racing, setting the third fastest lap time, 0.261 seconds from Brink.

Mikael Karlsson made it three Teslas in the top four ahead of STCC debutant Anton Marklund who impressed with the fifth fastest time, six tenths from the top.

Marklund headed his two PWR Racing team-mates Axel Bengtsson and Robert Dahlgren, occupying positions six and seven.

Alexander Graff was once again the top Volkswagen driver for Exion Racing, just over a second from Brink’s time, rounding off the top eight.

Next up for the STCC field is the Gothenburg season opener on June 8-9 which will feature the new Head 2 Head format in Race of Champions style.
