Lukas Sundahl joins Gothenburg field with Exion Racing

Multiple Porsche Carrera Cup champion Lukas Sundahl will make his STCC debut this weekend when the series races under electric power for the first time in Gothenburg.

Sundahl will race one Exion Racing’s BMW i4 cars and is the second Carrera Cup racer to join the field after current champion Ola Nilsson.

The 27-year-old has had limited running in the car ahead of the weekend following a brief test at Ljungbyhed.

“It will be really fun to make my STCC debut in Gothenburg, especially when everything is brand new for everyone in the championship in terms of car, tyres and competition format,” he said.

“It is clearly a fun car to drive and the test went fantastically well, even if it was short. Right now, the only thought is that I drive Gothenburg, but we’ll see. I take it as it comes, but of course you don’t want to be last and always when you compete you want to win.

“We have an exciting premiere ahead of us with a lot of action on a small and tight track.”

Sundahl completes the BMW line-up alongside youngsters Calle Bergman and Månz Thalin.
