Jimmy Eriksson beats Ola Nilsson to pole in Gothenburg by 0.028 seconds
Jimmy Eriksson claimed pole position for the second day of racing in the STCC season opener in Gothenburg, beating Ola Nilsson by just 0.028 seconds.
The track was just as yesterday wet, with Eriksson (Tesla) setting a best lap time of 37.446 while Ola Nilsson (Volkswagen), who suffered a broken suspension during testing earlier today, set a best lap time of 37.474.
Eriksson’s Brink Motorsport team-mate Mikael Karlsson was third fastest, two tenths from pole, with Robert Dahlgren (Cupra), who was disqualified from yesterday’s final, in fourth place.
Dahlgren’s PWR Racing team-mate Axel Bengtsson was fifth fastest, four tenths from the top time, ahead of Tobias Brink and Exion Racing BMW driver Lukas Sundahl.
The first heat of the ladder to the final starts at 15:00 CEST.
