Jake Hill optimistic of being ‘in the mix’ at Oulton Park

Jake Hill is confident that he can be in the mix at Oulton Park this weekend as the British Touring Car Championship season prepares to reach the halfway marker.

The West Surrey Racing driver heads to Cheshire as the in-form man in the UK’s premier motorsport series, having won four of the last six races – which in-turn has elevated him up to second in the standings, just five points shy of the summit.

Hill – who will be looking to score his 50th BTCC podium this weekend – will be optimistic of maintaining his front-running performances too as it was at Oulton Park last year where he really ignited his campaign, winning twice.

“I couldn’t have asked for much more over the past couple of rounds,” said Hill. “The Laser Tools Racing with MB Motorsport BMW has been such a strong package and we’ve found a set-up that’s allowed me to push to the limit and win races.

“Oulton Park was where our 2023 season really kicked into life, but we’ve started much better this time so I’m optimistic that – even though I have less hybrid for qualifying and Race One than at any other time this year – we can be in the mix and push for the championship lead.”
