Jan Magnussen switches to DM Racing with Lars Højris
Former F1 driver Jan Magnussen is going to join DM Racing with Lars Højris for the 2025 TCR Denmark season, with the duo driving a pair of Honda Civic Type R TCR FK7s.
Magnussen, who was supposed to drive for TPR Motorsport this season, last raced in TCR Denmark during the 2023 season when he finished fourth overall for Team Auto Lounge Racing.
“It is a total no-brainer for us to go wholeheartedly into this project with Lars Højris and Jan Magnussen,” said Pia Søgaard, director of DM Supply A/S.
“Over the past few seasons, motorsport has proven to be the perfect place for us to meet customers and other relationships, and now we have the opportunity to really accelerate it together with our guests.”
Magnussen will however not be on the grid for the first race at Padborg Park due to other commitments but will drive the remaining part of the season.
Team-mate Højris drove two TCR Denmark race weekends last year in a Hyundai i30 N TCR with Insight Racing and finished 13th overall.
“It wasn’t more than a month ago that I was offered to have Jan as a teammate, but it didn’t take many minutes from the time I presented it to Pia at DM Supply, until we were in the process of getting the project on track,” said Lars Højris.
“So, it can’t get much better, can it? Jan is one of the best Danish racing drivers ever, and his experience with the Danish tracks and touring cars is impressive, and I will absorb that in a big way. And it’s just amazing how Jan, after a long and impressive career, still loves to race on the Danish racetracks.”
Magnussen’s departure from TPR Motorsport means that the Swedish outfit will field two Hondas instead of the originally planned three for drivers Mike Halder and René Povlsen.
The 2025 TCR Denmark season starts on April 26-27 at Padborg Park and eleven entries have been confirmed so far, explore the list at the TouringCarTimes Grid Projections.
